What was the Regional Knowledge Leaders training?
The Regional Knowledge Leaders training covered:
- Understanding information and knowledge - what are the differences between them, how to work with them in a regional NRM context.
- How to facilitate the 5-stage Regional Knowledge Strategy process.
- Experiential learning of the special facilitation techniques used in the Regional Knowledge Strategy development process, including 'anecdote circles' (Stage 3 of the process) and 'sensemaking' (part of Stage 4 of the process).
- How to edit the RKRK wiki and become part of the Friends of the Regional Knowledge Resource Kit.
- Introduction to the NRM Toolbar.
Resources from the training are available to the Friends of the Regional Knowledge Resource Kit.
Representatives from 38 of Australia's 56 regional NRM bodies participated in the training, as well as a number of representatives from Australia's Rural R&D Corporations and other similar NRM and R&D organisations that work with regional NRM bodies. Ten Regional Knowledge Leaders training workshops were held across Australia between March and June 2008. Two earlier workshops also trained a range of people who work with regional NRM bodies at a State/Territory level, including Australian Government NRM Facilitators, State agency officers, and State regional NRM support organisations.
